Generation shift in Raidla Lejins & Norcous Tallinn office – the firm announces three new appointments

Raidla Lejins & Norcous proudly announces a generation shift in its Tallinn office - as of 1 September 2011 Toomas Vaher will take over from Jüri Raidla as Managing Partner of the firm and Jüri Raidla will become Senior Partner. Arne Ots will take over from Toomas Vaher to lead the firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice Area.

The appointments reflect the firm’s commitment to its strategic development plan which is based on the principle of rewarding excellence in order to “make the future happen now”. As Senior Partner, Jüri Raidla will focus on strategy development, while new Managing Partner Toomas Vaher steps in as chief executive to oversee day to day operations of the firm. Both partners will continue to represent clients in their respective areas of expertise. The strategic and management vision reflected in these appointments is to further strengthen the position of Raidla Lejins & Norcous as the leading law firm across the Baltic region.

Toomas Vaher, now Managing Partner of the firm, has been with Raidla Lejins & Norcous for 15 years. He has been a path breaker in the commercial litigation field, and played a key role in building up the firm's dispute resolution practice. He participated in numerous landmark cases and has consistently brought outstanding results for the firm’s clients in handling local and international disputes. Currently, he is a leading practitioner in the field of commercial litigation. Mr. Vaher is also the Chairman of Estonian Bar Association.  

Arne Ots, the new head of Dispute Resolution Practice Area, has been with the firm for 13 years. He is a top specialist in Estonia in the fields of public procurement, insolvency international arbitration, as well as labour law and white collar crime. This combination of high level expertise is unmatched in the region. In 2010 alone, teams led by Arne handled disputes in the construction and IT sectors valued in excess of 160 million Euros.
