Tax counsel Marek Herm reported on Estonia at the international tax conference
The conference "Procedural Law in the Context of Community Law and Domestic Law" was held in Rust, Austria, from July 2 to 4, 2009 and was organized by the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law of WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) together with the friendly support of IFA (International Fiscal Association), Austrian Branch.
More than 24 National Reports covering eight main topics were presented to give way to a throughout discussion and analysis of differences between domestic constitutional principles and procedural rules of the EC countries in the context of community law. Special focus was laid on community law requirements for tax treaties, state aid and customs. Also, the necessity of a harmonization of procedural rules for a future CCCTB or EU tax were discussed at the conference. Marek Herm, Tax Counsel of Raidla Lejins & Norcous, made one of the presentations on the Estonian system.
